I extracted the bootloader from the 6.7u2 ISO with 7zip and used rEFInd (which was recommended since the tool you linked was not maintained anymore) to start EFI shell. In my case USB was fs0: and installation was on fs3:
I don't remember exactly but IIRC it directly threw an error when I tried to boot.

I've tried using internal/external (mobile data) network
_But_ still have the same "io.netty.handler.timeout.ReadTimeoutException". error.

cache_consideration_in disk group_vsan
Hi Bob/Vsan team ,
can you please suggest the best practice for cache in configuring disk group for vsan.
below is what iam trying to configure .
4 esxihost vsan cluster (uniform resources) with one disk group each .
for disk group i have 4 capcity hard disk of 8TB.
and ssd for cache 800GB.
is this sufficient cache ?? my understading that cache/capacity shud be at least 10 percent per disk group.
Please suggest.

Use multiple External Displays VMWare Fusion 11
Hi,
I have 3 monitors in total, 1x being my Mac Book screen plus 2x External Monitors. I would like to have both my external monitors using VMWare Fusion to run Windows and would like to leave my MacBook still running my Mac OS.
I have been reading many articles and forum discussions but have not been able to find a solution as using "All Displays in Full Screen" will make all my 3 Screens Windows OS screens and if running 'Single Screen in Full Screen' mode then I am unable to run Windows Fusion on more then 1 screen, as windows does not see the other displays.
I have been a user of Fusion for years and this has always been an issue, I was wondering if VMWare has finally addressed this issue or is this still a functionality issue which is still only available in Parallel's?

Do you have any specific 3rd party software installed in ESXi , or are you booting through Dell custom Image. If possible, can share "esxcli software vib list" output and attach the log files ( boot.gz and hostd.log) from the host where this issue is seen.

How do I export a VM?
I have a Windows 10 VM. It got into a bad state and I restored to a previous snapshot.
However, I want a copy of the bad state (which is also saved as a snapshot), so that it can be examined.
I can save the current state as snapshot and restore the bad state. How do I then export that to a separate VM (a copy) that can be imported elsewhere?

Re: API for vSAN data store name
Iam pretty sure that in your API also something like "get-datastore" exists and you only have to filter for "type = vsan".
A short search brings up
VMware-vSphere-Automation-SDK-Java where a get-type exists. So you can enumerate each datastore and check the type of.
I preferer only to investigate the way if there is are Clusters with VSAN enabled and than check for the datastores.

Not able to access ESXi using web console on PC connected to LAN
Hi,
I have installed new esxi 6.5 and after installing cannot connect to the host from network. Hostname is resolved but rest ip addresses failed to resolve.
The host is able to acquire IP from network but cannot connect from network pc.
Please see following images for further details.
Also is there any way to directly connect laptop the host to access web url?

Re: vSphere Integrated Container licensing
VIC runs on vSphere 6.0 and up. One of the requirements is that you need Enterprise Plus licensing for all of the hosts. So you need to upgrade from Enterprise to Enterprise Plus first if you would like to use VIC or by a small setup for VIC but based on vSphere ESXi Enterprise Plus.
The Enterprise Editions died YEARS AGO... VMware offer a upgrade with 50% discount for a long time and they says that the next vSphere (what ever named it) dont support old Enterprise License. So you cant upgrade to that version as long as you stay on your Enterprise.
